Ayia Napa Beaches
The Best of Cyprus

Ayia Napa Beaches are among the best on the Mediterranean Island of Cyprus. This third largest island in the Mediterranean lies in the southernmost corner of Europe near the coasts of Turkey, Syria and Lebanon.

It enjoys a mild weather all year round, attracting tourists by the millions to its beautiful Cyprus Beaches, like Paphos Beaches, Larnaca, Limassol and more.

Beaches of Ayia Napa

Also spelled Agia Napa, its beaches are all linked by a coastal path leading from Ayia Thekla on the west of town to Protaras and Pernera on the east, all with golden sands and crystal clear waters. Among them 14 are Blue Flag Beaches.

Most of the beaches have lifeguards on duty during daylight time from April to October. They feature facilities such as toilets, changing rooms and the renting of umbrellas and sunbeds. Many offer also snack bars and water sports.

This stretch of sand goes from the harbor to the eastern side of town. It is mostly sandy with few rocks. It is the main beach in Agia Napa and the closest to downtown.

It is also known as Glyki Nero, meaning “sweet water”. Like in many other of the Cyprus Beaches the clear waters run shallow way into the sea. It reminds me about my childhood years in Varadero Beach in Cuba.
