Curacao Island is one of the ABC Islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. It is located off the northern coast of Venezuela in South America.
It is part of the group called the Dutch Antilles. Now it is a Constituent Country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The island is about 10 miles or 126 Km at its widest point and a total area of 180 sq. miles or 472 sq. Km. It is the largest of the Dutch Antilles.
Most of Curacao’s inhabitants live near the historic town of Willemstad, the capital on the east.
It is a dry country with an average 20 inches or 510 mm of rainfall yearly. Most of the water used on the island is provided by a large desalinization plant on the south.
