Guam beaches area a well kept secret for Americans in the Pacific
Ocean. Guam is an unincorporated US Territory with a civilian government. Its
capital is Hagatna, formerly known as Agama. Guam is the largest and
southernmost of the Mariana Islands, and the largest of the Micronesia Islands.
The locals are called Chamorros, and the economy is supported by its primary industry, Tourism, mainly from Japan and US Armed forces.
Asan Beach Park on the Island of Guam
This is where US marines landed when fighting to recapture Guam from the Japanese occupation of World War II.
The beach is lined with coconut trees that provided the much needed shade from the tropical sun.
Next to the beach is Asan Beach Park that is used for all kind of activities including picnics and beach games.
This rock beach lies adjacent to the Talofofo River Bridge. The low lying outlet is lined with a protective rock levy reminiscent of San Francisco Bay.
Tanguisson for a Family Beach Vacation in Guam
This is unspoiled beach open to a park with many shade trees and manicured grass ideal for picnics and all kind of family reunions.
This southern beach is popular with locals and right next to Jeff’s Pirate’s Cove. Kite surfers are often seen from this rugged spot.
You don’t need a security clearance to reach this beach on the north of the island. The US Fish and Wildlife Preserve are located near the recreation area. If one sticks to the posted warnings it will ensure a safe and enjoyable visit to one of the most pristine beaches on Guam.
Gun Beach in Guam is ideal for snorkeling
It is located on the far end of a small lagoon created by a massive cliff on the north side of Tumon Bay next to Guam Nikko Hotel.
Diving and Snorkeling are great on this beach and there is a dive site with steep reef sides and a cable trench leading into deep water.
The entrance is through a recently paved road and there is plenty of parking available. There is a Beach Bar on this beach with enough parking also.
On the left of the old gun is an entrance to another secluded cove called Fai Fai Beach.
Even though you have to walk 1 Km to get to this beach, it is worth the effort. This is a beautiful beach with white sands and clear waters. Snorkeling is ideal on this beach where the marine life abounds.
These are natural bathing spots next to a public park on the main road that circumnavigates the island. These are coral outcroppings resembling the lava flow of volcanic islands.
Tagachang is one of the most beautiful of Guam Beaches
This is one of the most beautiful beaches in Guam set between jungle topped cliffs. It is undeveloped and calm, ideal for good swimming and sun tanning.
It is located north of Yona Village off route 4. To reach this beach you’ll need your own car or scooter or a taxi, because there are no buses to this beach.

Matapang Beach on Tumon Bay in Guam
Located on the flat waters of Tumon Bay it is a full beach with many amenities like lifeguards and patrols. It features BBQ pits and covered seating with public restrooms. Local water conditions are posted daily for the public safety.
The sunset on this particular beach is awesome with an occasional rainbow behind the clouds making it perfect for a photography session. Parking on this beach, nestled between high rise hotels is limited.
Agana Beach near Haganta the Capital of Guam
This is one of the largest stretches of beach in Guam. Located near Haganta, the capital, it is home to a War Memorial, coffee shops and restaurants overlooking the water and the public park with BBQ pits and covered seating.
Local fisherman can be observed casting nets and hunting for octopus in the shallow blue waters. Water sports equipment, including wave runners and sailboats, can be rented for use at this location.
Located on Naval Base Guam, Gab Gab is a beginner snorkeler’s paradise, with an impressive variety of fish, plenty of colorful corals, and strong chance of spotting a sea turtle, and you’ve got a guaranteed seaside adventure.
Ypao Beach is one of the favorite of Guam Beaches
Also known as Governor Joseph Flores Beach Park, this is a Guam favorite. It is very close to many hotels on Tumon Bay. This beach is part of the Tumon Bay Marine Preserve Area.
The beach is ideal for snorkeling where fish and marine life is abundant. Needless to day that swimming and sunbathing is excellent on this beach. There are facilities for picnics and bathrooms.

Guam Beaches are ideal for Snorkeling and Diving
Only snorkel within your comfort zone. If the surf is too big or currents are too strong, come back another day.
It’s always recommended to try out a new site accompanied by someone who has already been there, done that, and knows the way back to the car.
Protect Guam’s reef life. The beautiful underwater gardens surrounding the island take hundreds of years to grow. Don’t destroy their beauty by standing on them or taking things from the reef.
