Home to the Famous Island of Bali

When we mention Indonesia Beaches our first thought goes to world renowned Bali Beaches. There have been so many movies and advertising about Bali that almost everyone has heard about it.

But the country of Indonesia with its more than 17,500 islands stretching from southeastern Asia to Australia has some of most beautiful beaches you can imagine. Since Indonesia crosses the Equator all its beaches are tropical beaches with the right warm weather and great powdery sands and crystal clear waters.

Some of the most known Indonesia Beaches are

  • Kuta Beach

    Kuta is known for its spectacular sunsets. It is also the shopping Mecca and nightlife of southern Bali. The streets are lined by restaurants, hotels, boutiques and shops of all kinds.

    It is near the airport and the beach stretches all the way north. This beach has great surf and is good for wind surfing on windy days.

  • Sanur Beach

    It is a traditional Bali Village and very established tourist area with nice hotels, restaurants and entertainment including many village activities. This is the place to experience the beauty of a tropical beach and at the same time appreciate the Balinese Culture.

  • Belitung Island

    Belitung, or in English Billiton, is an island on the east coast of Sumatra on the Java Sea. It is a medium sized island of bordered by the Gaspar Strait, the South China Sea and the Java Sea.  Its waters are shallow and calm making it ideal for sailing and swimming 
  • Senggigi Beach

    It is located in Nusa Tengara Timor in Lombok. The waters are clear and invite for snorkeling and swimming. The actual town of Senggigi is about 10 km long along the coastal road. The scenery of the west coast of Lombok is spectacular.

  • Derawan Island

    It is located in archipelago of Derawan, in east Borneo. There is a sea park around the coast and it is well known as a place for Scuba Diving, on waters about five meters deep. The marine life around this island is mind boggling.

  • Legian Beach

    Legian Beach borders with Kuta to the north and it is very similar to Kuta when it comes to restaurants and entertainment. Legian is much quieter than Kuta because there is no direct access from the road. It is a great beach for walking.
  • Lovina Beach

    Lovina Beach is located on the northern part of Bali. The sands are grey and the waters calm and clear. There is a dolphin watching tour offered here. What makes this beach very attractive are the many places that can be visited while in Lovina like Hot Water Banjar, Wihara Buddha, Gigit Waterfall and a few more.
  • Tanjung Bira

    Located in Bulukumba, south Sulawesi, the beach of Tanjung Bira is known for its white sands and clear waters. Do not miss the sunset while staying on this beach.

  • Mentawai Islands, West Sumatra

    Any experienced surfer will tell you that Mentawai Islands has some of the most consistent surf breaks in the world. It is a great beach for wind surfers.
  • ​​Panaitan Island, West Java

    The claim to fame of Panaitan Island is having the world’s longest surf spot. It is also one of the most dangerous and challenging. Painatan is part of Ujung Kulon National Park and home to native wildlife.
  • ​​​Bunaken, North Sulawesi

    This island features about 15 diving spots and visitors flock here for the great scuba diving and snorkeling. The dive spots have 30 meters drop off housing various species of fish and marine life.

  • Nusa Penida, Bali

    ​It is located just one hour east of Bali, Locals and visitors love the most beautiful coral reefs on the islands. Sometimes visibility is up to 30 meters.

  • ​​​Pulau Derawan, East Kalimantan

    ​ Located 20 km off the coast of East Kalimantan, Derawan is a gateway to the Sangalaki archipelago, a chain of over 30 islands that are home to some of Indonesia’s most isolated beaches.
  • ​Banda Islands, Maluku

    ​Take a ferry ride from Ambon to this chain of islands and you’ll find unspoiled beaches that look like they belong in a picture perfect screensaver. This is for the real adventurer and for persons with a lot of time, because the ferry may take about 12 hours.
  • ​Mawan Beach, West Nusa Tenggara

    Mawan is a horseshoe shaped beach about five km west of Kuta Beach. The only inhabitants are members of a small fishing community. That said, the beach is all for yourself.
