Long Island Beaches mean sun, sand and surf and are just amazing. Long Island is a huge, densely populated island in southeastern New York State, stretching east from New York City. Along its Atlantic coast you may find many glorious beaches which are the delight of beach-goers during summers

On the east end, the North Fork is home to wineries and the Hamptons are towns characterized by upscale homes, trendy restaurants and antiques shops.

Long Beach

Stretching for almost 5 km this white soft sand is considered one of the most beautiful in America and perhaps the world. Ity was originally South shore beach at the end of the 19th century when it was a summer resort. It then became a residential area.

This is a beach for everybody; you may want to swim, suntan or just seat under an umbrella and read a book. If snorkeling is your thing, this is the place or you may want to ride your bike down the boardwalk that stretches for 3 km.

This is one of the most popular of Long Island Beaches, bustles with activities for everyone in the family. It’s the ideal one-day tour from the Big Apple, especially during the summer months.

This beach is located in the Hamptons and is considered for years one of America’s Top Ten Beaches. It is a pristine white sand beach with many dunes and bird nesting areas.

This is the perfect spot to see and be seen. It attracts the type of fashion-oriented people. It is popular with surfers because of the amazing swells.

There are facilities for volleyball, biking as well as the other regular facilities of a well-kept beach.

Every year on Labor Day weekend, the East Hampton Fire Department sponsors a spectacular fireworks show at the beach.

Located on the Village of Southampton on Long Island’s south shore, it features beautiful sand dunes. It is one more of the designated as best beaches of America.

Residents park free, but non-residents have to pay. You may buy seasonal passes, but they are limited, so plan ahead.

It is also called “The End” because it’s located on the easternmost tip of the island. It features a wide beach with white sands known as the Surfing Mecca and has been named as one of the Top Ten Surfing Spots in America.

Montauk is also home to the famous Montauk Lighthouse.

You won’t believe it is just an hour from Manhattan, because it feels like a world away. It is very busy during summers. It is an 11 km beach of white sands with a long boardwalk and a theater.

On the park's west end, you may watch the birds as they come to nest and many native plants.

This beach is known for its annual Jones Beach Air Show every Memorial Day and the Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular.

Known as one of Long Island’s most crowded beaches it is the perfect one-day getaway trip from New York City.

Lido Beach

This Italian namesake sits on a barrier island on the Island’s southern shore. Until the 1960s this was the home of the famous Mediterranean style Lido Beach Hotel.

Today it’s a nice residential beach community where the visitor finds the peace and quiet they are seeking.

Robert Moses State Park

This state park offers more than 8 km of white sand beaches for swimming, boating and practicing all kind of water sports.

It is located on the southwestern tip of Fire Island, which makes it a great destination for New York day-visitors. It is easily accessible by car.

Fire Island

If you take the ferry to this barrier island, you may pick any beach you want. In Saltaire, Dunewood, Fair Harbor, Point o' Woods, Ocean Beach or Atlantique Town Beach you will find lifeguards on duty and it is safe to swim.

If you go to Kismet, Watch Hill, Fire Island Pines, Cherry Grove, Sailors Haven, and Ocean Bay Park, only the ocean side has lifeguards.
