Phuket Beaches
The Best of Thailand

Phuket Beaches are by far the Best Beaches in Thailand and among the Best of the World.

Phuket, an island off the mainland of Thailand in the Andaman Sea, a branch of the Indian Ocean, boasts white sand beaches and crystal turquoise waters that are the delight of tourists for decades.

There are other beautiful smaller islands like Koh Phi Phi Thailand with great beaches, but Phuket remains number one.

All the amenities you may want in a Beach

Phuket beaches are not only graceful by nature, they are also well kept by humans that will go to any length in order to make you, the visitor, happy and assure you will come back again and again.

There are many diving spots with amazing marine life for the delight of scuba divers and snorkelers.
If you are into surfing of any kind, you’ll find your beach for that. And if all you want is a good swim and a perfect sun tan, there are sun beds, umbrellas all over the coast of Phuket. Enjoy from the smaller romantic coves to the large beaches with lots of tourists.

Here are a few of Phuket Beaches

  • Patong Beach

This is by far the most popular of Phuket Beaches; it doesn’t mean I recommend it. It smells from so many people at one time on the beach, it is too crowded. But it is the heat of Phuket and people flock here like flies. So, you must see and and then go spend your day in one of the following beaches.

  • Freedom Beach

Located in Paton is accessible only by boat unless you want to hike among jungles to get there. But once there you’ll know why people go through some effort to arrive to this paradisiacal beach.

  • Banana Beach

Located in Laguna this was one of the last corners to be discovered by the crowds. Lately it has become very popular but it remains extremely beautiful.
Paradise Beach
Located outside Patong Beach, this is one of the best kept secret among Phuket Beaches. It is a sheltered bay flanked by rocks from both sides. It is a well kept sandy beach that keeps its beauty despite the amount of tourists.

Karon Beach in Phuket Thailand

Karon Beach in Phuket Thailand

  • Karon Beach

Karon Beach, the second longest beach in Phuket, enjoys a very long and wide stretch of white sand with an acceptable dining and nightlife. Yet it doesn't seem to attract the crowds, and it's not because municipality hasn't tried.

  • Kamala Beach

Located in Kamala this 2 km long beach is ideal for families wanting to stay away from crowded areas like Patong. What started as a small Muslim village has developed to a big town. You’ll find many places to eat and drink in Kamala.

  • Surin Beach

Located in Surin this is a beach that provides all amenities and a relaxing atmosphere for a great day at the beach. The crystal clear waters are cleaner than in other crowded beaches.

  • Kata Beach

This beach in the area of Kata is the most popular after Patong. It is surrounded by casuarinas trees offering the much needed shade after a good swim and some sun tanning in this beautiful beach. I offers an array of restaurants and entertainment.

  • Bang Tao Beach

Also located in Laguna this is an 8 km long stretch of white sand beach making it one of the best Phuket Beaches. It is home to the Laguna Complex of resorts and condominiums with an extraordinary private golf course.

  • Laem Singh Beach

This beach located in Surin has been undiscovered until recently. Now it is crowded with tourists. This beach is simply stunning.

Kata Noi Beach in Phuket is relaxed and laid back

Kata Noi Beach in Phuket is relaxed and laid back

  • Kata Noi Beach

Located south of Kata Beach this small beach is much more relaxed and unspoiled as compared to the big Kata Beach. There are no beach vendors and just many sun beds to bask on the sun for the sun tan you want to show off to your friends back home.

  • Laem Ka Beach

Located on the very southern tip of Phuket it is difficult to locate, so ask the locals. It is not crowded, so be of the first people to discover it.

Ao Sane Beach
You may see this tiny beach from former Nai Harn Beach. It consists of three small bays connected to one another by walking through a few beach bungalows.

Nai Harn Beach in Thailand is great for family vacations

Nai Harn Beach in Thailand is great for family vacations

  • Nai Harn Beach

Located in Nai Harn it is a beach where the sands slope gently into the sea. This beach is seldom crowded therefore relaxing and quite for a romantic getaway.  This beach still holds to its local feel. Since it is a protected bay you’ll find plenty of boats that at a reasonable price will take you on a ride.

  • Nai Thon Beach

Located in Laguna is a one km long beach with the finest white sand you’ve ever seen.  Thanks that it belongs to the Sirinath National Park it has not been a victim of over development like some of the other beaches.
