Valencia beaches are located on Spain’s east coast and even though they get busy during summers, there is space for everyone. Many of them are underdeveloped and ideal for a great day of swimming and sun tanning.

This is Valencia’s city beach, which name means “the sands”. It honors the name with a large stretch of 2 km of golden sands from the downtown Valencia.

It is easily accessible and there is always space for everyone to relax and enjoy the beach. The beach has plenty of facilities with sunbeds, toilets and snack bars for rent and sports equipment. In the promenade there are plenty restaurants and cafes.

La Malvarrosa Beach

Connecting with Las Arenas it is still underdeveloped and ideal for spending a day at the beach. The sands are golden and the water deliciously clear and cool.

It is popular with locals and also the most popular beach in Valencia because the vast amount of open spaces.

The Maritime Promenade, constructed in 1980, provides with all facilities for visitors like cafes and restaurants.

Every year the Malvarrosa Beach in Valencia welcomes an air festival that is celebrated directly in front of the promenade.

Patacona Beach

This one is a little further out following Malvarrosa, but stil close to downtown Valencia. That makes it quieter than the former two.

It is located near the town of Alboraya, famous for its drink the “Horchata”

El Saler Beach

Beautiful Blue Flag beach, with over 5 km of coast. It is located south near the town of El Saler. It is said to be the home of the world famous Paella Valenciana.

It is definitely one of the best beaches around Valencia.

La Garrofera Beach

Located further south of El Saler, this beach is unspoiled. It is a favorite with nature lovers looking for peace and relax. There are few facilities and you may find few people around.

It is part of the Albufera Natural Park and surrounded by natural dunes.

Pinedo Beach

Located in the town of Pinedo, this one tops the list of Valencia Beaches. It has fine golden sands and calm waters.

The Turia river mouth lies north of the beach where rice fields are found more inland. Some areas for nudists can be found on this beach.

La Devesa Beach is worth a trip out of Valencia

La Devesa Beach

It is recommended to do this special trip out of the city to reach this beach, one of the most pristine in Valencia. It is surrounded by natural beauty like trees, flowers and a lagoon home to many kinds of wildlife.

Found within the Natural Park of El Saler, is a gorgeous beach protected by natural dunes within Albufera. It was once known as Malladeta Beach. Together with El Saler Beach, it is found in the area called Devesa del Saler, the strip of sand that separates Albufera and the Mediterranean Sea.
